Colour: Red Stardust - Interference Mica Pigment Powder

This is a light, semi-translucent powder.   In the jar, it looks like a plain white powder with a hint of green crystals, but when applied over a dark background, it throws gorgeous green sparkles,  and becomes a vibrant transluscent green!

Being a larger particle size, this interference mica pigment has more sparkle, but is more translucent (lower coverage).

Great when used alone, or can be added to other mica pigments for unique effect!

These pigments can be used in cosmetic applications, such as nail polish or nail dippling powder, and they’re fantastic to add to your resin projects.

They make amazing acrylic or watercolour paints.

You can blend them with any translucent acrylic medium to create iridescent/interference nail polishes or paints…experiment and create something unique!

Microns: 40-200um

NOTE:

The colour is dependent on the viewing angle.  For best results, apply these pigments in a light coat over a dark or black base.  A little bit goes a long way!

Interference Pigments are mica coated with titanium dioxide. When viewed straight on, the powder appears more to be white, but when viewed at an angle, the powder throws iridescent colours. These changing colors are due to the thickness of the titanium dioxide coating. The light striking the surface is refracted, reflected and scattered by the layers that make up the pigment, creating the iridescent colour effect.
