Iron Black is a synthetic black pigment that is made by precipitating iron salts in the presence of an alkaline solution. The resulting pigment is a fine, dense powder that ranges in colour from a deep blue-black to a brownish-black, depending on the specific production process used.

Iron black is often used in paints, inks, and other art materials. Iron Black has good lightfastness and is resistant to fading and weathering.

Our Iron black is a deep black that gives very good coverage with a transparent binder.  It is solid neutral grey with a white binder.

This pigment is synthetic. Iron black is non-toxic and safe for your health and the environment.
